The Roping Show
with Tyler Magnus
The Roping Show with Tyler Magnus, airing weekly on RFD-
TV, is under new ownership. Tyler and Leah Magnus recently
acquired The Roping Show from its creators Tim and Jane
O’Neil. Both Tyler and Leah agree, “This is an exciting
opportunity for both us and the sport of team roping. We hope
to build on the O’Neil’s idea of a program dedicated to team
roping by designing a show that will promote, educate and
provide entertainment on the sport of team roping to the
millions of team ropers, fans, and horse enthusiasts.”
The Roping Show with Tyler Magnus is a 30 minute program
airing weekly on RFD-TV. The show will highlight action from
various team roping events around the United States, including
interviews with today’s top professional ropers, upcoming
amateurs and various experts in the equine industry. Each
episode will include an instructional segment called “Tyler’s Tips with Tyler Magnus” from premier horseman, instructor, and
professional team roper Tyler Magnus.
The primary goal of The Roping Show is to provide an
entertaining mix of both professional and amateur roping
action, proven roping methods combined with horsemanship
skills for roping enthusiasts at every level. The show’s concept is
a natural fit for Tyler and Leah. Both have been involved with
team roping and the equine industry their entire lives. Tyler has
been roping for over 35 years, winning his first roping buckle at
the age of 5! Tyler has since won at all levels of the sport while
becoming one of the premier horse clinicians and roping
instructors.
Through the years of conducting countless instructional
schools, training horses and competing at team ropings highest
level, Tyler has always searched for a way to share this
information on a broader level. The Roping Show will provide
Tyler with the unique opportunity to share his extensive
knowledge and experience with the hope of benefiting others in
the roping and equine industry.
THE ROPING SHOW IS PRODUCED
BY TYLER AND LEAH MAGNUS.
TYLER MAGNUS is a 9-time competitor at the National
Finals Rodeo and was the NFR winner in 1995. He has also
won the PRCA Texas Circuit Championship and the George
Strait Team Roping Classic. Tyler is one of a handful of cowboys
who is equally competent as a header or heeler. Tyler’s horse
training skills have brought him as much acclaim as his awards
in the roping arena. His ability to communicate with all levels
of riders and ropers has made him highly sought after as a
horsemanship and team roping instructor.
LEAH MAGNUS, Tyler’s sister, is a top-rated roper in her own
right. Learning the ropes along side of Tyler, Leah is a winner at
both heading and heeling in USTRC and other major ropings.
Leah’s experience also includes, broadcast television, event
planning, marketing and management.

ZOLI VAJDA
may be the most talented and experienced
director of rodeo programs in the world. Long before rodeo was
thought of as a mainstream sport, Vajda was directing PRCA
rodeos for NBC, CBS, and ESPN. He has directed the National
Finals Rodeo an amazing 13 times, beginning almost 30 years
ago. Additionally, Vajda has produced and directed such
cutting-edge programs as Rodeo Sports Page, a weekly report of
Rodeo results he started two decades ago. He has also directed
the in-house and pay-per view broadcasts of the Houston
Livestock Show and Rodeo for 20 years. Vajda brings knowledge
of the sport, experience in directing, state of the art editing, and
enthusiasm for the success of The Roping Show. Zoli Vajda and
Leah Magnus have worked together on various production
projects for the past two decades.
