Casey Colletti, of Pueblo, Colo., says his involvement in rodeo dates back “for as long as I can remember. I can’t ever remember not being around rodeo at some level.”
Colletti, who started riding professionally in 2005, looks forward to the level of competition that The American will bring out in his fellow bareback riders on March 2, 2014, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“It’s exciting whenever you get down to a showdown round like a final-four type situation, and guys really try to go out and ride good— trying to win it. Those type of deals are usually great watching,” said Colletti.
Among the titles he is most proud of Colletti, 28, cites winning Cheyenne Frontier Days in 2011. He also credits among his highlights to date three NFR qualifications.
He attributes much of his success to the tremendous level of support he’s had from his family. His father, Chuck, was a bareback rider for more than 20 years.
“I’d like to thank my family for all of their support over the years for me to be able to do this,” said the former NIRA Central Plains Region bareback riding champion (2006), who also appreciates the support of his sponsors B. Tuff Jeans, Pete Carr Pro Rodeos, MGM Grand and the family ranch, C&S Farm & Cattle.
