Following demand disruption from COVID-19, speculation looms over the recovery of the ethanol sector.
RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison speaks with Erin Fitzpatrick, an analyst with Rabobank, on how the sector is less optimistic than the USDA’s numbers and how the disruption has impacted corn producers. According to Fitzpatrick, “We do believe there will be a recovery. We follow these weekly ethanol statistics... we are seeing it inch up week-after-week. We believe it is going to be more a muted recovery and it’s going to be slow coming back to the pre-pandemic levels...We do see a recovery happening, we’re just not as optimistic as USDA would imply in their numbers.”
