While grape producers are struggling with wildfires, there could be a bright spot for table grapes. The USDA is predicting a big increase in production in the “Golden State.” That means you’ll have access to more of the grapes used for snacking and to make juice.
The 2020-2021 crop of table-type grapes is projected to be 2,700 million pounds, up 14 percent from the previous season.
Jaclyn Kramer, a USDA economist, says that U.S. grape export this season has slowed due to a combination of factors. The lower supply this season put downward pressure on domestic prices.
