The U.S. Meat Export Federation Chair is wrapping up his one-year term.
Kevin Jones says that this year has been challenging, but they were able to communicate with international consumers and industry stakeholders.
He says that despite the pandemic, members have upheld their commitment to keeping U.S. red meat on tables and international trade must remain a top priority.
“Ninety-seven percent of the world’s population lives outside of the U.S. borders. I mean, it’s very important that we continue to focus on those markets and where we can move our products into and where we can create a profitable environment for producers all over and we’re really seeing a true value for beef producers,” Jones states. “When I talk about ti, roughly $300 per head added value in those export markets.”
Jones is wrapping up his term at a conference this week, which runs through Friday.
