China is calling on cooperation to end the international shipping container shortage.
The backlog started when trade resumed after last year’s global lockdowns.
U.S. ag exporters say that containers are leaving American ports empty, headed to China for more lucrative cargo. In some cases, it is taking months to get ag cargo to its destination.
Last week, China said its ports are now becoming clogged, and it is working to manufacture more containers, but overseas ports need to work together.
