The Right To Repair Coalition is trying to expand farmers’ ability to work on their own equipment.
The group says lack of access costs farmers time and money, waiting on dealers to address & fix simple problems.
Opponents claim farmers with modern equipment already have the ability to do 95-percent of repairs on their own but say that remaining 5-percent includes proprietary embedded code that should be guarded for safety, warranty and innovation.
Currently 21 states have pending right to repair legislation.
