The worst is in the west, with 90 percent of the area covered. The lack of moisture concerns groups, especially as some face the possibility of not producing a crop.
National Sorghum Producers’s CEO Tim Lust says that items like WHIP+ and WHIP 2020 are vital for those that do not have a crop. He fears it will be tough for Congress to pass funding after a record year of government payments, but he hopes they step up and deliver the help producers need.
