The New York Farm Bureau is urging Gov. Andrew Cuomo to include ag workers in the expansion of COVID-19 vaccine eligibility.
Steve Ammerman, Public Affairs Manager, speaks with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on what they are calling for and the need to prioritize food and ag workers.
“We’re simply asking the state to follow the CDC recommended guidelines. They came out with the guidelines earlier this year that said all food and agricultural workers should be included in Phase 1B of the COVID vaccine rollout. When that list came out here in New York state, farmworkers were left off the list, and we think it’s time to prioritize these essential workers to make sure that they are protected for their own health and safety and for that of our food supply as well,” Ammerman states.
