Federal court sides with Missouri in “fake meat” labeling case

A victory for cattle growers in Missouri.

A federal court sided with the Attorney General in a “fake meat labeling” case.

The maker of “Tofurkey” and the Good Food Institute had asked a court to stop a 2018 Missouri law that bans mislabeling products that do not come from harvested livestock or poultry.

The federal court denied the injunction and affirmed a lower court’s ruling that the law is constitutional.
