Mum’s the word so far on returning the gray wolves to the Endangered Species List under the Biden administration.
President Trump’s decision to remove the wolves from the list led to an overhunt in Wisconsin. It is unclear whether will roll back the move.
Wisconsin has a state law that requires a wolf hunting season, with a harvest quota of 119. Hunters doubled that.
Tribal representatives say that this disrespected their wishes. Other states are unsure if they should follow suit.
The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission says that other than citing the gray wolf in an executive order, the administration has not given a notion that they intend to undo the delisting, which would be a lengthy process.
