The coalition opposed to Colorado’s Initiative 16, is requesting a review from the state supreme court.
Coloradans for Animal Care says that the ballot proposal would criminalize many routine animal care practices that farmers and ranchers use to feed America, but the group says that what makes the initiative illegal is that it is not a single-issue item, as required by Colorado’s Constitution.
The group says that the state admits some language in the amendment needs to be fixed but has not assured a fair amendment will be presented to voters.
