Deepening drought in the Northern Plains is taking a toll on crops and pastures. Despite recent rain, producers continue coping with dry conditions as summer approaches.
President of the Minnesota Farm Bureau, Kevin Paap speaks with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on current conditions, how it compares to previous years, and what resources might be available.
“We went from frost damage on Memorial Day Weekend to a week where temperatures were 14 degrees above normal, that’s 60 degrees in six days... We’ve had seven consecutive days above 90 degrees... So, we certainly have a crop growing at a very rapid pace,” Paap states.
