CA is currently battling three sizable wildfires

Firefighters in California already fear this fires season could be worse than last year, as they battle three sizable wildfires.

They say that this year has “all the ingredients” for a devastating season: extended drought, low precipitation levels, and dry trees, bushes, and stuff on the ground.

So far, the Lava Fire in Mount Shasta has burned 24,000 acres with 27 percent of the flames contained.

To the north, the Tennant Fire in the Klamath National Forest has burned 10,000 acres, with only 6 percent containment.

Moving to Redding, the Salt Fire has covered 4,500 hundred acres and has destroyed a dozen homes and outbuildings.

Data from the National Interagency Fire Center shows that 31,000 wildfires have broken out in the U.S. so far this year.
