A wildfire in the west is forcing farmers to evacuate.
The Caldor Fire has shut down a main artery between Lake Tahoe and Sacramento. It has burned nearly 115,000 acres, and is growing by the day. The fire has been burning for more than a week and it is only 9 percent contained.
Nearly 50,000 residents have been told to leave. It has even prompted health officials in Nevada to tell residents to stay indoors.
This season has brought historically bad air quality, which has been felt across the country, and has an adverse impact on livestock. In California alone, wildfires have scorched 1.6 million acres.
