Bayer has alerted its customers of a potential impact on glyphosate production, due to a problem with a supplier.
The supplier of a raw ingredient at a Louisiana plant says that it is suffering a mechanical failure. The repairs could take three months.
In the meantime, Bayer says that it has sourced additional materials to mitigate the situation, and it expects the impact to glyphosate production to be “marginal.”
The company says that it has been working with customers to help manage supplies with the chain already being tight.
