USDA’s annual Ag Outlook Forum kicked off moments ago. Currently underway, Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack is delivering the keynote address where he announced USDA’s plan to expand processing capacity.
“We’re excited to make this additional $150 million dollars available so that we can see an expansion of shovel-ready projects,” Vilsack stated. “So that we can expand capacity and increase competition which we know will support strong prices.”
He says that $25 million dollars will be available to expand technical assistance and $40 million dollars to strengthen workforce development.
