March is Women’s history month, a time set aside to honor their contributions made throughout time, including the millions who’ve served our country in uniform. This year, there is an exciting new movement underway to ensure that women who’ve signed up to defend our country have their experiences and contributions memorialized.
The Military Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. is calling on all female military members – past and present – to share their story.
The process to register your story is easy and free of charge: log on to womensmemorial.org, where you’ll be prompted to share basic information and a summary of your military experience. Family members can also register their loved ones who’ve served but passed away.
The women’s memorial registry currently includes the stories of 300,000 military service members, which is only 10% of the?3 million who’ve served since the American Revolution.
