The National Milk Producers Federation is urging the Senate to come through on the Farm Workforce Modernization Act.
The House passed the measures that would allow dairy farms to participate in the H-2A visa program. It would allow employers to post job openings online, reduce labor costs by freezing wages for one year and capping wage growth thereafter, and giving long-term ag workers a path to citizenship.
While the Milk Producers support the bill, other ag groups have reservations about portions of the measure.
The bill is stalled in the Senate.
