500 Miles of Destruction: Hurricane Helene’s impact on ag across the southeast

Hurricane Helene has brought devastating flooding and severe weather to several states in its 500-mile path of destruction, including Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Tennessee.

As the storm moved through the southeast, it unleashed heavy rains and strong winds that wreaked havoc on agricultural land and livestock.

In Tennessee, the impact has been particularly hard-felt in the eastern part. The state’s Farm Bureau encourages those affected to visit the UT Extension page for flood-related resources and assistance.
