A lack of guidance around 45Z tax credits is already causing ripples

A lack of guidance around the 45Z Tax Credit is causing issues within the biofuels industry.

Reports show groups like Cargill and Bunge have started slowing their soybean purchases, and Farm Policy News found some biofuel producers have already stopped buying soy oil for next year.

Early last month, some fuel retailers had only bought a fraction of their biodiesel feedstocks for the coming quarter. Groups are asking the Treasury Department to release their guidance around the 45Z Tax Credit, and warn processing plants could close shop without it.
