A Michigan ag group is working to protect farmland from large-scale solar farms.
The Michigan Citizens for the Protection of Farmland is working on a proposal that would ban solar farms from being built or operated on any land designated as agricultural. The group says that preserving Michigan’s fertile land is essential for the future.
This comes as farmers in Idaho are fighting against one of the nation’s largest wind projects.
