Ag accounted for 11% of overall U.S. emissions from 2021-2022, a report says

Agriculture emissions have dropped over the last couple of years.

The EPA measures these emissions on a nationwide scale, and the Agency says agriculture accounted for 10.8 percent of overall U.S. emissions between 2021-2022. In 2022, that share dropped to 10.5 percent.

Ag emissions are largely made up of methane from sources like fermentation, manure, and rice cultivation. The industrial sector is the largest polluter, making up 26 percent of all U.S. emissions.
