Ag equipment sales were down in June

Ag equipment sales have taken a dive lately with all sectors coming in lower compared to last year.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers says June numbers showed the same slowdown they saw in May. Total farm tractor sales were down 11.5 percent on the year in June. Self-propelled combine sales are down around 17 percent during the same time.

Senior Vice President Curt Blades says the decline comes after five years of strong sales. He adds the challenges facing tractor markets are another reason a robust Farm Bill needs to be passed soon.
