A new California plan aims to triple sales of electric vehicles in the next four years.
The California Air Resources Board says the goal is to make EV sales 35% of all new car purchases. This is an effort to phase out gas-powered car sales within the next decade.
The Board thinks the program would lower emissions by nearly 400 million tons of carbon dioxide over 15 years.
