Almost 40% of SB&B Foods shipments have been delayed by the shipping container shortage

We continue our coverage of a shipping container shortage on the west coast.

While the issue is not new, an investigation has been launched due to a growing shortage causing issues for exporters and farmers. American soybean exporter, SB&B Foods is just one company feeling the effects.

SB&B’s President, Bob Sinner speaks with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on how it is impacting his company, what carriers are saying on the matter, and what needs to happen moving forward.

“It’s a continual run around and a number of excuses that carriers are giving us about why they cannot take our bookings or why they are canceling their bookings,” Sinner states. “This is very, very frustrating.”

He goes on to say, “We need some action on this... carriers are trying to get their equipment back to Asia for exports to North America and Europe... but they are ignoring export requests and that is a violation of the Shipping Act... Now they are telling us that this could last until the third quarter of 2021.”
