Biden Administration to provide massive funding for rural broadband

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced more than $750 million in spending to bring high-speed internet to more rural Americans.

The money is available through loans and grants from the third round of funding from the Reconnect program, which is part of President Biden’s infrastructure law.

North Carolina’s Access To Networks will get $17.5 million to connect businesses, farms, and educational facilities.

Tekstar Communications will receive $12.6 million to deploy fiber in parts of Minnesota to hundreds of businesses and farms.

In Colorado, Eastern Slope Rural Telephone will get $18.7 million to get fiber to nearly 1,000 farms and more than 100 businesses and schools.
