California ag leaders fear that the Bureau of Reclamation is underestimating the impact of future water cuts

Some major water cuts could be coming to America’s largest agriculture state, specifically the Central Valley of California.

A long-term plan released by the Bureau of Reclamation shows that the 5-15% cuts would come from agriculture while boosting municipal and industrial deliveries by 10%.
The California Farm Bureau says the plan underestimates the likely impacts on agriculture production in the area, especially in the highly productive San Joaquin Valley.

Congressional leaders have voiced concerns and are urging the Bureau of Reclamation to reconsider.
