Colorado has issued a proclamation urging citizens to avoid eating meat. Ag advocates across the region are now rebutting with “Meat In Day,” taking place tomorrow.
Terry Fankhauser with the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association speaks with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on the importance of beef in the state, “Meat In Day”, and some of their goals with this movement.
“In Colorado, agriculture is about the second-largest economic generator in the state; the beef industry is about sixty to sixty-five percent of that. So, it is a very, very important industry, and specifically, through the pandemic, it’s in some cases been near the top industry as we’ve seen hotels and tourism shrink,” he explains.
