This year’s Hard Red Winter Wheat Quality Tour continues and it is showing a lot of damage caused by drought.
On day two, scouts made 276 total stops at fields across Western, Central, and southern Kansas, and saw 27.5 bushels per acre, which is down nearly 10 from last year.
They found the crop in southwest Kansas was rough, showing poor stands and even some freeze damage.
The tour will continue today with six routes between Wichita and Manhattan.
