NASHVILLE, TN – Country music singer-songwriter Dillon Carmichael doesn’t hold back in his vulnerable new single “I’d Call Grandpa” released Friday via Riser House Records. The Kentuckian honors the relationship he built with his late grandfather while his parents were away, working hard to make ends meet. The sentimental single, co-written with Kenton Bryant and produced by Jon Pardi, is available here.

When Momma was busy and Daddy was gone, I’d call Grandpa

He was Superman in overalls

Knew every old Don Williams song

Had a fighting side he left behind and ‘Nam in ‘67

If there was a landline that ran right to the countryside of Heaven

And I had one call

I’d call Grandpa

This is the second single the chart-breaker has released this year, following “Someone Who Don’t Miss Me At All” also produced by Jon Pardi and Ryan Gore. Carmichael’s rowdy summer single, “Drinkin’ Problems” is currently climbing the country radio charts and was the top added song for five consecutive weeks. Each song showcases the deep-holler twang that led to Rolling Stone to dub him “country music’s most convincing young star since Stapleton.”

Fans can hear Carmichael’s new music live on his newly announced ‘My Neck Is Red And My Grass Is Blue Tour’ this month. After wrapping up Cody Johnson’s ‘The Leather Tour’ this year, Carmichael didn’t skip a beat announcing new headline dates across the bluegrass state. In two weeks, the Kentucky-bred troubadour will then travel across the pond in direct support for Jon Pardi’s ‘Mr. Saturday Night Tour’ in the United Kingdom.
