There could finally be a tool to fight African swine fever directly.

The EPA approved Virox Animal Health’s Intervention brand, farm disinfectant for controlling ASF. The company says that the concentrate when mixed in a 64:1 solution and applied for 10 minutes proves effective against the swine virus.

Virox says that its product is non-toxic, non-irritating, and biodegradable.

ASF has decimated at least half of the world’s pork and could cost the U.S. billions.
