In less than a month, the U.S. will be under new leadership. President-elect Trump takes office January 20th, and NCBA says there is a lot on their agenda for his second Administration.
“We’re going to be working on transportation, we’re gonna be working on animal disease and traceability. We’re going to be working on the check-off in those markets, transportation, and hours of service and safety. A lot of the overreach in regulation that we see from the government, which is huge, maybe the single best thing that comes out of this because, like the BLM, conservation, unfortunately, has huge ramifications for things like the Department of the Interior, the Forest Service, which effects everybody in the West. The West ends up being the testing ground for all those things: endangered species, energy development, water management, and so on,” said President of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Mark Eisele.
Labor is another area Eisele wants to see addressed. He say there has been a lack of people willing to work, and he hopes policy changes can make a difference.
