Ghost Cattle Scammer seeking third sentencing delay

A former Washington rancher who admitted to a “Ghost Cattle Scam,” is now seeking a third delay in sentencing.

Cody Easterday faces two decades in prison for defrauding packers out of hundreds of millions of dollars for cattle that never existed.

He is scheduled for sentencing on January 24th. He has been working to sell off property to pay his creditors, but his attorney says that they need until late April to allocate those proceeds.

Easterday’s operation in Washington state also includes 22,000 acres of potatoes, onions, corn, and wheat.
