Good Golly, Miss Dolly! Dolly Parton to donate additional $1 million to Hurricane Helene recovery efforts

Dolly Parton announced this past weekend that she is sending another $1 million donation towards Hurricane Helene relief efforts, according to American Songwriter.

During the Luke Combs and Eric Church ‘Concert for Carolina Benefit,’ host Marty Smith read Parton’s statement regarding the donation, adding that it is “to my neighbors in North Carolina...I know money won’t solve all the pain and suffering these floods have caused, but maybe it will help some of our people with recovery. It will take all of us working together, but we can do it. Love, Dolly.”

Parton announced her first donation earlier this month. At the event, she reflected on the damage she saw in her area.

“Who knew in our little part of the country here, where I was born and raised right down the road, that we would have this kind of devastation...I look around and I think, these are my mountains. These are my valleys. These are my rivers, flowing like a stream. These are my people. These mountain-colored rainbows, these are my people and this is my home.”
