Health on the Go: Nebraska clinic mobilizes healthcare to reach rural patients

I Love Rural Health takes us to West Hold Memorial Hospital in Atkinson, Nebraska, where a community is taking health care on the go.

Thousands of rural Nebraskans are at a geographic disadvantage when accessing basic medical care. That’s why one hospital is mobilizing to bring basic procedures closer to their patients.

The project aims to improve patient outcomes and break down rural health disparities one barrier at a time. While the mobile unit has some limitations, the essential services offered reduce patients’ travel time to receive care and the likelihood of long-term hospital stays and costly interventions.
