House Subcommittees are currently trying to tackle food shortages for tribal and elderly communities

Currently underway, the House Appropriations and Agriculture Subcommittees is holding a joining oversight hearing on food distribution shortages.

During his opening remarks, Representative Brad Finstad from Minnesota discussed food distribution issues affecting tribal and elderly communities. He highlighted problems resulting from USDA’s decision to consolidate food distribution to a single warehouse, which began in April 2024.
