HPAI has been detected in Nevada

Avian influenza has now been detected in Nevada.

Outbreaks have been on the decline recently, with only four states confirming the disease so far this month. However, this marks the 37th state to be affected this year.

USDA confirmed the disease on a non-commercial operation and is working with state animal officials on a joint response. Forty birds on the property were culled. More than 40 million birds have been impacted by the disease in the U.S. this year.
