HPAI isn’t affecting turkey prices... yet

The turkey market has seen big swings over the last 18 months, and processors are preparing to see the potential impact of High Pathogenic Avian Flu.

Leaders at Michigan Turkey Producers tell Brownfield Ag News they have seen a $45 million change in revenue projections for next year. They are thankful turkey flocks in their state have not yet been infected with the virus, but the group warns the next two months will be telling as cases keep adding up.

Next week, the American Farm Bureau will release its annual Thanksgiving dinner cost survey, which comes out on the 15th.
