Fertilizer supply issues could put farmers in a bind new growing season.
A new report from Rabobank shows affordability could hit negative ranges as prices for popular nutrients continue to climb.
Right now, Rabobank’s Affordability Index is holding at neutral, but issues on a global scale are affecting prices of nitrogen and phosphorus. That includes lower natural gas supplies in Egypt, and price jumps in places like Europe.
Analysts say that they will be closely watching India, and how much growers there will end up needing.
Numbers from DTN show anhydrous was the only major fertilizer to come in higher this month. Up a dollar per ton.
