It may be the end of hurricane season, but we need to keep an eye on the Pacific Ocean

While hurricane season is coming to a close, there is still potential storms in the forecast.

USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says that he is keeping an eye on the Caribbean Sea, which has the potential to develop a low-pressure system in the coming days. Thankfully, weather pattern changes here in the U.S. will help to keep any of those tropical developments away from the mainland, but Rippey says that the Pacific tells a different story.

According to Rippey, “We do have an interesting area that is active across the Eastern Pacific Ocean well southeast of Hawaii, and over the next week or so, that system has about a 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression or a tropical storm.”

He adds that there is a possibility that the system may drift towards the Hawaiian islands.
