Kansas State University is one of three schools to receive funding to advance the conservation of bees.
A K-State Entomologist first launched the website BeeMachine.ai and a mobile app in 2020 to help track bee population trends globally.
Brian Spiesman says that the project is now able to identify more than 350 of the world’s 20,000 estimated bee species.
The three schools will split a $1 million grant to further their efforts.
