Fall is officially here, which means agri-tourism is in full swing. Today, we visit a Georgia operation that has everything from corn mazes to hayrides and pumpkin patches... plus, a Christmas tree farm.
Kinsey Family Farm started out as just a small idea for a side business and is now one of the top agri-tourism spots in all of Georgia. Visitors can feed animals, plant trees, go on hay rides, and find the perfect pumpkin.
In 2001, Kinsey Family Farm began growing Christmas trees, but they did not stop there. Every fall, over 1,000 families visit the operation.
For most of the young visitors, this is the first time they have stepped foot on a farm. This is why the Kinseys’ operation is so diverse, so the kids can have a wide variety of things to experience.
Co-owner Andy Kinsey states, “For us, it’s a great opportunity for them to come out here and see what farming is all about, see where food comes from and see where pumpkins and Christmas trees come from... and enjoy a whole different lifestyle.”
The pumpkin patch is a big draw during the fall season. They have a multitude of different varieties, from regular orange, to white, to orange with white, and even green.
The farm is a true labor of love.
