With harvest nearly wrapped up, farmers and ranchers are preparing for next year. New numbers from Farmers National Company show there will still be several issues to watch out for.
The first ssue to keep an eye on is the Farm Bill. Lawmakers are back on the Hill this week but there is still a lot of work needing to happen before any action there.
There are some highlights, however. Farmers National expects fertilizer costs to fall nearly 10 percent next year, and they are preparing for lower interest rates. Seed, chemical, equpment, and labor costs are expected to hold steady from this year.
They also say weather is also a concern, with two major hurricanes this year wreaking havoc on the ag industry.
