High-Path Avian Flu is spreading. Animal health officials in Louisiana have reported the state’s first case of the virus in domestic birds.
The detection happened at a backyard flock in the state. USDA’s APHIS is working with state officials on how to move forward, but both agencies will do surveillance and testing in the area. USDA is urging all operations across the U.S. to follow proper biosecurity plans.

In Pennsylvania, birds are returning to next month’s farm show. Pennlive reports some poultry classes will be limited to only photos to protect the state’s poultry industry.
