The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that 9 percent of meat plant workers are infected with COVID-19.
Out of 111 plants surveyed in 14 states, only 86 required workers to wear face coverings. 69 plants installed physical barriers between workers and roughly 45 plants offered testing for the labor force.
Two workers at a Tyson plant in Nashville, Arkansas are being treated for injuries after a fire this week. The blaze was quickly extinguished and the cause is under investigation. The main section of the plant is fine, as the fire was limited to a detached building.
