While she didn’t grow up on a farm, there is no doubt Meredith Bernard is a FarmHer. In college, she worked closely with livestock and then went on to a career in feed sales. But it was a nasty spill off her horse that she found her way to her husband, Lawrence. She’d heard he was a miracle worker with problem horses. He helped her realize the problem wasn’t her horse, but her fear.
After the first time they worked cattle together, he said he just had to marry her. Over a decade later, they are raising two children and cattle on their traditional family farm along the border of Virginia and North Carolina.
