The National Pork Producers Council is celebrating its recent victory over concentrated animal feed operations (CAFO).
An appeals court sided with the EPA, saying their denial of a petition for more regulations on CAFOs was unreasonable. Activist groups had asked the Agency to strengthen CAFO regulations, but the judge says the EPA can instead gather data and appoint a stakeholder panel.
This has been a passionate issue for the NPPC. The group recently argued on behalf of livestock producers, saying they had big concerns with the proposals by activist groups.
