Oregon anticipates losing thousands of cattle due to wildfires

Wildfires in Oregon continue to burn through thousands of cattle, threatening the lives of livestock.

The Durkee Fire, which started from lightning on July 17th, has now merged and expanded in the state’s main cattle-producing region, growing to nearly 300,000 acres.

Response efforts are being organized to minimize damage, but the president of the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association expects thousands of livestock will be lost.
