The Governor of Oregon has issued the first drought declaration of the year for Klamath County.
This time a year ago, we reported extensively on the low levels in the Klamath River Basin, and the situation has only gotten worse.
This week’s declaration comes a month earlier than the first declaration last year. The state says low snowpack, reservoir levels and streamflow have caused or will cause natural and economic disaster.
